Seacert Adds Digital Certificates and Trust Services for Open Mobile Alliance DRM Products
Sunnyvale, CA, June 29, 2009 – Seacert Corporation, the global leader in standards-based DRM trust management, today announced a new service for providing digital certificates for Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) DRM products. This new service builds upon Seacert’s established services for managing Marlin DRM digital certificates.
Seacert, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intertrust Technologies Corporation, was founded in 2007 as a Trust Service Provider for Marlin DRM systems. Today, Seacert has over 20 customers globally including many major consumer electronics companies' network operators. Seacert’s professional staff brings years of experience in risk management, security policy and process operations; Seacert’s mandate is to single-mindedly provide enabling trust services.
In addition to offering keys and secure digital certificates for OMA-only and Marlin-only deployments, Seacert also offers support for deployments using the "OMArlin" specification, Seacert enables service, application, and device providers using OMArlin to offer seamless interoperability between the two platforms, as keys and certificates for OMA and Marlin come from one source. OMArlin is ideal for IPTV deployments where a network operator or service provider may support OMA DRM devices in a Marlin home domain.
"Seacert is pleased to extend its services to OMA DRM," said Dave Maher, President of Seacert. "Using digital certificates from Seacert in OMA and/or Marlin devices and services is the best way to manage risk and costs and maximize interoperability in a consumer friendly way."
Seacert offers a suite of secure trust services including remediation and renewability. Seacert also offers Root Management Services for DRM systems and currently manages root keys for multiple Marlin infrastructures globally. Seacert also offers consulting services related to electronic risk management, cryptographic key management, and digital certificate services.
